Hello!

As some of you know, I'm a big fan of Masterchef (I still have a bit of a soft spot for Gary :P) and I've seen Christine Manfield appear a couple of times with some amazing dishes. Then in the Season 4 finale, she brought out the Gaytime Gone Nuts, which of course I HAD to try! So this was the next stop on our Sydney Food Trip.

We were a little full from our huge meal at Momofuku, so we made dinner reservations for 8:30pm, although when we got there, it was still very packed and busy. One of the first things you notice when you walk in is that everything was pretty much red! Mostly because of this huge red light wall, I don't know how to explain it but it was cool. I also liked how over the bar area they had these cute cut out letters that hung from the ceiling.

 

On to the food!! We were advised to order 3 main dishes and then a dessert. We only managed to order 2 dishes each otherwise we wouldn't be able to fit in the dessert and we couldn't have that! The waiter also said that because the flavours in each dish are very delicate that we shouldn't share them, although we still sneakily did.

We had a great experience dining at Universal, the atmosphere was comfortable for fine dining, the cocktails were interesting and the food was delicious. Can't wait to try it again, even if it's just for the Gaytime Gone Nuts hehe! Hopefully next time I'll get my photo with Christine Manfield too!
